The dreamiest of all, she likes to escape reality by reading poetry. Before joining Yuka, she worked for 6 years as a civil and commercial litigation lawyer, defending numerous players in the social economy. Being a Libra, Louise is always asking herself 1,000 different questions and tends to be the last one to decide what to order at restaurants!
Caroline Coutant

Our chatty Cathy, she always has funny stories to share with us. At Yuka, she manages customer service with Marie, taking care of all our users. Caroline is a fan of nail art and often surprises us with her creations, which include watermelon-patterned, SpongeBob, and glow-in-the-dark nails!

The most sensible one of the bunch, you certainly won’t catch her getting into any kind of trouble! At Yuka, she leads the customer service team with Caroline, ensuring that every message received gets a response. She loves baking cakes with her two daughters, crafting piñatas, and inventing treasure hunts for them.
Léna Jamin

The most tattooed one of the bunch, he has illustrated 15 of the most important moments in his life on his skin. Joining us from the hospitality industry as well he always has a smile on his face and is a true people person as well as being highly adaptable. He is a huge Harry Styles fan and a tea lover (his favorite one answers to the sweet name of Blue Mountain).
Aymé Lansival
Aymé

The movie buff, he goes to the cinema at least once a week. Lost in Translation tops his list of favorite films. He’s also passionate about rock climbing, with the Calanques of Marseille as his favorite playground.
Elizabeth Davis
Elizabeth
Customer service
The music lover, Liz adores attending indie pop, folk, and rock concerts. Originally from Iowa with a degree in dietetics from the United States, Liz handles Yuka’s customer service for the USA. The most multicultural, Ileana balances her American and Venezuelan roots. Responsible for customer service for the USA at Yuka, she skillfully responds in English, Spanish, and French. She listens to music all day and is also an excellent singer. A former figure skater, she dreams of returning to the ice someday.
Sylvain Chevalier
Sylvain
Back-end Developer
The most artistic team member, he loves to make music. His favorite genre? Techno! At Yuka, Sylvain is responsible for the backend, or the database containing the thousands of products. He spends at least as much time making jokes as he does writing code.
Alice Scaffidi
Alice
Customer service
The polyglot of the bunch, she speaks 4 languages fluently and takes great pleasure in the nuances between words. Italian herself, she takes care of our Italian users' inquiries as well as translating all of Yuka’s content into Italian. She loves running, yoga and dreams of having her own vegetable garden where she can grow her own carrots!
The story
Benoît & Melissa

Benoît, one of the co-founders and a father of three, decided he wanted to buy better food for his family. He found it overwhelming to read all the labels for a vast array of food products and thought it would be nice if there were a tool that could automatically analyze the ingredients in each item.

He shared his idea with his brother François and a friend, Julie. Both were immediately won over by the concept. In February 2016, the three of them presented the idea during a startup competition called the "Food Hackathon". After a weekend spent hammering out their concept, the trio took home the top prize! Realizing that their idea fulfilled a real need, they jumped wholeheartedly into the project.

In the beginning, they hadn't imagined an app, but rather a magnetic, carrot-shaped smart device that would stick to the refrigerator. After a few months however, they started to grasp the limitations of such a device, including its price, which would not make the analysis of products accessible to all. They therefore decided to opt for a mobile app instead.
